Hurumanu-Decomposing

Decomposting

Aim: To learn about the rate that different materials decompose.

Image result for test tube rack

Hypothesis: I think that...... the bread will become liquid and be all mouldy

Materials:

  1. Beakers
  2.   Beaker holder
  3.   bread
  4.   banana
  5.   styrophone
  6. cardboard
  7. water

Steps:
  1.   Get your materials
  2.   put some water into one of the beakers
  3. but the food, cardboard and styrophone
  4.   wait 1 week then check  and repeat
  5.

Conclusion:I enjoyed this experiment and I learned that bread and water dont mix and banana goes hard and curly with mould on it.

    • Choose 3 items from the list.
    • Investigate them using Google.
    • Answer the 4 questions below.

    Name:
    1. How long does this resource take to decompose?
    2. What resource / fossil fuel are they made from?
    3. How does making this object contribute to climate change?

    Hurumanu-Water Cycle

Today in science we did another experiment to do with co2 and what it does to the nature of our beautiful world .

    Climate Chaos
    Written by: Jamie Dickson

    30/8/19

    Title

    Water cycle

    Purpose

. what the water cycle does

    Materials

    • 1X large ziplock bag
    • Blue food colouring
    • Water
    •  Vivid
    • tape

    Steps

    Get your ziplock bag
Draw the water cycle on your bag with vivid
    Put water in your bag
Put 2 drops of food colouring
    Put tape on the bag
Hang the bag on a window that has sun

    Conclusion

I think the outcome of this experiment will be
That there is more water in the bottom and lots of of condensation in the bag

    What actually happened...

    Purpose

. what co2 does to nature

    Materials

    • Blue food colouring
    • Water
    •  Vivid
    • Tape
    • Litmus paper
    • Baking soda

    Steps

    Get your ziplock bag
Draw the water cycle on your bag with vivid
    Put water in your bag
Put 2 drops of food colouring and a teaspoon of baking soda
Put tape on the bag and put litmus paper on the corner
Hang the bag on a window that has sun

    Conclusion

I think the outcome of this experiment will be
That there is more water in the bottom and lots of of condensation in the bag and the paper will change colours

    What actually happened...

    conclusion
the first water cycle had average sized droplets.the second bag had some acid and there was not as much water and there was more acid

    Hurumanu-Green House Gasses

AIM: TO LOOK AT CLIMATE CHANGE AND THE GREENHOUSE EFFECT.

      THE GREENHOUSE GASES EXPLAINED.

      The Greenhouse Effect experiment

      Materials

      1. 1 plastic bottle
      2. 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda and Citric Acid
      3. 1 heat lamp
      4. 1 Thermometer
      5. 100 ml water
      6. 1 rubber bung

      Procedure

      1. Collect materials.
      2. Setting up the lights, bottles, thermometer and bungs.
      3. Add the baking soda mix along with 100m of water.
      4. Wait 5 minutes then start recording.

All water added to bottles was from class tap.

      Conclusion:

The normal water didn't heat up as much as the one with gas in it this is just like climate change.

      factories

factories make stuff like cars, cloths and electronics and it makes poisonous  gasses

      transport

transport is all sorts of things like cars bikes and boats these all things produce toxic gasses

      electricity

electricity creates co2 and other toxic gas

      landfill

landfill is the rubbish that is in our dumps and it makes co2 and other gasses

      food

food is something you eat but the stuff you dont eat slowly starts to rot and make gasses

      cows

cows make greenhouse gasses and co2 that pollutes the air

      Digital Ignition

                                                    Digital Ignition
today on the 19 of June in 2018 we  do off and on coding  witch is how a computer reads words. The person teaching was called Lyn .
      Image result for m bot
we used a robot called m bot  and we got a iPad and made it deliver  ice cream to schools and beaches

here is a video of our journey of  m bot. We did a track and when it finished  it did a song then police sirens .

it was super fun to do go and check out my teams blogs Elias and Odin . 😀😀🤖🤖

      Persistent Pigeons

      Persistent Pigeons

There was three birds who where tiered.  they were  hungry, they were yawning for so long and 20 minutes later they were awake. Then they got super hungry.

they saw a cupcake and they wanted it so they tryed to get it.
They stacked on top of each other and that did not work, so they made a launcher and that was the closest one of them got to the cupcake.

But they got a worm instead and it was still wiggling. And they were excited. They killed it and ate it with hay. They loved it too much that a number  skale will break .

      adventures in the pits

      Adventures are the pits
I was at the incredible ball pit, it was like millions of mice.
with a red face like bright blood I was so scared but I slid down the slide and BASH BANG THUD!
I fell to the bottom of the ball pit with a lollipop so I started climbing I got up to a bit then stopped for a large breath.

I kept climbing and I looked down and let go i got a grip of an old lollipop I climbed  with the old lollipop and got out of the largest ball pit I have ever seen. I had a lollipop and it had a old hair on it  but I still ate the rest of the half eaten lollipop.

I had it in my mouth when I got out of the disaster.

      The Cloud

I was the fluffiest cloud, the other clouds  did not like me because they thought I was a bully but I was not. The others kicked me out.So I went to explore the big wide world .I flew past people, cars and buildings. I flew across to New York and it took a long time to get there.

I lived my life in New York and problems were happening, people were fighting and there were house fires I was scared so I made myself rain on all of the 46 house fires.  I saved lots of people from the house fires.

When the disasters were over I went over to the toy store and a kid gave me a lego set and he said I was awesome for saving his house. After the other clouds heard they let me be a part of them so I lived happily ever after the disasters.

      The end
