Art Hurumanu

Art Hurumanu

So in art we have been making our own custom shoe that is our design  to make people learn a lot about you in different ways.so what we had to do was we had to choose a shoe then we had to make a plan for what you were going to do with the shoe. After that we made cardboard barts for the shoes shape after that we had to paper mache the entire thing then after we had to put under coat on it then paint over with the colours the teachers had for the children to use then when your shoe was finished you could do a shoe box to paint like your shoe  then they went on display in the learning commons this morning and they look really good how some people have done their shoe. I had to get help because I was not there for 2 periods then I needed help doing paper mache becauseIi was behind then my shoe was ready for paint so I chose my colours which were blue, red and green with grey pipe cleaners for shoelaces. But the hurumanu has ended and I don't know where my shoe is or what state it is in but I hope that it is not crushed or smashed because that took me a while and I still didn't finish it and I hope that I can take it home and finish it because it annoys me that the fact it’s not done and I like things done and not things that aren't done.

    Hurumanu-Wind Power!!

    Measuring weather.

    Definitions:

    1.  Anemometer: an instrument for measuring the speed of the wind, or of any current of gas.
    2. Beaufort wind scale: The Beaufort scale is an empirical measure that relates wind speed to observed conditions at sea or on land. Its full name is the Beaufort wind force scale
    3. typhoon: A typhoon is a mature tropical cyclone that develops between 180° and 100°E in the Northern Hemisphere. This region is referred to as the Northwestern Pacific Basin, and is the most active tropical cyclone basin on Earth, accounting for almost one-third of the world's annual tropical cyclones.
    4. monsoon:Monsoon is traditionally defined as a seasonal reversing wind accompanied by corresponding changes in precipitation, but is now used to describe seasonal changes in atmospheric circulation and precipitation associated with the asymmetric heating of land and sea
    5. what is it when the weather is really nice and turns to hail:As the article explains, hail formation occurs "when strong currents of rising air, known as updrafts, carry droplets of water high enough that they freeze." The higher these droplets get, the cooler the temperature, even during a hot summer. ... In fact, warmer weather might actually result in a stronger updraft.

    Anemometer

    MATERIALS

    1. 2 sticks
    2. 4 cups
    3. sellotape
    4.   pencil with eraser at bottom
    5.   pin
    6. sticky note

    STEPS

    1.   Get your materials
    2.   Put your 2 sticks in a cross shape
    3.   Put your four cups on the end of the sticks (2 on each stick)
    4.   Tape the cups
    5.   Tape the sticks in place
    6. Get a pencil and a pin
    7. Pin goes in the rubber of the pencil through the tape
    Group Investigation.

    Groups size: 5
    Roles:
    • Timekeeper
    • Counter
    • Recorder
    • Anemometer Manager
    • Wind Manager
    1. Mount the anemometer in a place that has full access to the wind from all directions.
    2. When the time keeper says "Go", the counter in each group will count how many times the marked cup passes them in one minute and write it down.
    3. Repeat the above step four (4) times and record the number of spins on the chart.

    FINDINGS

    • Record how many times it spins and record it in the table below.
    • You will need to time them and count the number of spins.

CONCLUSION: I learned that there is so many different wind speeds for different places

    Instructions:
    • Go to the measuring place and set up your wind gauge.
    • Make sure everyone in your group is ready to start their roles.
    • Record how many times it spins and record it in the table below.
    • Count the number of spins in 15 seconds.
    • Record it on your chart.

    My Holidays

    My Holidays

My holidays were pretty boring because I didn't do much and I ended up very bored and thinking what can I do ?

So my first highlight was going to the mcleans island swap meet on friday. me and my dad spent about $179.50 on old junk that we clean up,put away, display or sell. the prices on some of the old junk there was crazy like $15 for a hot wheels 73 ford falcon xb coupe but yet i payed $1 for a vintage hot wheels then go home research it and find out that it is worth from $50-$178 now that's a good buy but me and my dad spent 3 hours walking around the swap meet about 2 times.

My second highlight was I went to my cousins house for a sleep over and to see my black cat. so I enjoyed seeing all of my cousins and my black cat . my favorite cousin got me into animating on flipaclip and I found the perfect meme for it it was a dancing dinosaur. making strange noises so I have started drawing the individual slides ad it is a lot of work to do but in the end it will be great.

    Orana Park

    Orana Park

On Tuesday my class went to orana park. we learnt about the animals and what climate change does to there habitat some of the facts were really sad and some that were funny

    1 thing's I liked
I liked seeing the gorilla because I have not seen one for about 1 year.

    2 thing's I liked
I liked seeing the ostrich's because the are tall and the fasted running bird.

    3 thing's I liked
I Liked seeing the Meerkats because they are soooo cute with there little behaviors and how they played.

    Fact 1
In the meerkat family only alpha females are aloud to have baby but if a normal female has baby's there baby's will get killed and the female will get kicked out of the group.

    Image result for meerkat

    Fact 2
In NZ only 95% of kiwis dont make it to one year old and also the ones that make it to there 1st birthday they probably wont make it much longer.

    Image result for Kiwi

    Fact 3
The smallest breed of tiger is  the Sumatran tiger and they dont eat the ducks that are in there habitat but if they were in the wild they probably would eat them.

    New Kahui's

                                                                Hello Bloggers
So our school has been making some new buildings for us to learn and do work in  so there quite big and cramped because we have to share it with ts when we were in you old building.

When I walked into our new buildings I saw

Lots of beautiful colors and lots more furniture and TV's that are massive and have L.E.D lights on the back that change colors. Also I saw new tiered seating in our mat that makes it really cramped. But there was still construction going on because there was holes in the roof and plugs hanging out everywhere .

When I walked into our new buildings I thought

My thinking of these new buildings is that im not a big fan of them because we have to share with another class and there is 3 Kahui's that are the exact same and are very close together witch I do not like at all and also our mat is tiny because of the tiered seating in the way of people sitting.

When I walked into our new buildings I felt

I felt Quite shocked because pretty much the entire school is been rebuilt and done nicely but yet again they are all the same Witch annoys me but they look pretty nice and our entire school rebuild took about 2 years to make and for all three building's to be made it cost about 27 million dollars to build .

    Conclusion

My overall thoughts of our new Kahui's is that I dont really like them but at the same time I like them but yea they are pretty cool and cramped.

See you on my next post Bye

    Art

    ART

So in art we have been doing clay figures for our clay'mation stop motion that we are going to do in our groups.

The people in my group are:

    Rory.
    Kyle.
    Jv.
    Jamie.
    Aisa.

    Setting:

    Woods.
    Log cabin.

    Characters:

    Elvis.
    Elvis's dog.
    Bear.

So our story is about a man named Elvis who was making a tea in his log cabin. Then he heard a loud GROWL he got so scared that he threw his cup across the room. Then his dog went to find what was making that noise. Then Elvis's dog found a Bear then the bear went up to the dog and patted its head.

so I did not get a picture of my background that Me and Rory painted but it looked quite cartoon'y but it was semi realistic.

    2040

    2040

Today in science we watched a documentary about climate change in 2040. it was also about solar energy and how it can effect us and other country's. but the problem is rubbish going into our soil and making it bad

    What surprised me

I was surprised that the amount of smart ideas like a composter for coffee cups and other used paper items that cant be disposed other ways.

    what exited me was

I got exited because the litter is not polluting our world and our amazing parks and other grass places .

    what worries me

I am getting worried with the electric cars because if they dont have a sensor on the front pedestrians might not hear the car and then get hit by the car

What I would like to happen in 2040 is that all of the waste is not not needed in out land or our sea but the problem is people dont understand that littering is bad for our world.

Thanks for reading my post Bye
